Mahagoni won the Cairns Cup after Mr Racing was extremely keen on it at Mackay the start prior. Amazing how many times we are on them at the start before they come out and win. We believe he was ridden too close at Mackay and settling off the speed Saturday proved to be too good for them.

Mr Racing Does Del Ma Races
Mr Racing is currently in California and last week on the Golf Course he met a man named Angus McDonald. Angus provided Mr Racing with box tickets to Del Ma races and what an experience it was. Punter Of The Day - Greg Wood's Story
Mr Racing’s Silver Member Greg Wood who won Saturday’s $1,000 Free Play on Avone has a great background story involving one of the greatest horses to ever live. “Phar lap”
Greg’s grandfather, Jack Baker was the man to ride Phar Lap to his first-ever win.
Not only was Jack Baker a jockey in his day but turned trainer and then trained horses for MR Racing’s grandfather and lived next door to his Aunty. Amazing little world we all live in and it seems to be where ever we go we run into someone with a connection back to us.
Congratulations again Greg it was great to have a good chat with you an we hope to see you back on the East Coast of Australia before 2026.

Aeliana
Well backed late and settled midfield one off getting a lovely run. She still had to make up 3-4 lengths at the 200m but gee she extended well taking over at the 50m and running right through the line. A lovely filly who no doubt will be aimed at some better targets next start like the Group 3 Up And Coming Stakes.
3 & 4 Leg Multi
Dirt Cheap: Began well and Jimmy Orman rolled forward to try and obtain a forward position, eventually settling outside the lead. They only went along at a moderate tempo and got into a fight down the straight and got the better of Admonish. Got the right run and right result for our first leg of the multi. I can't say the same for the next one though.
Mist Of Dawn: Cert beat here! Got squeezed out at the 1000m mark and then never got a shot at them in the straight. To be only beaten 2.3 lengths on the line is huge!
Avone: Looked to get the perfect run on paper and it panned out that way with Avone getting a lovely sit just in behind the speed. At the top of the straight M Castle looked to have a lap full of horse but just needed the breaks. A quote from our Punter Of The Day "I was shaking and praying the gap would open" When it did she accelatrated and put them away winning by 0.71 lengths with a futher 1.3 lengths back to 3rd.
Cashin' Chex: The racing game can be cruel sometimes and the result here is a good example. We were very keen on the winner Mahagoni at Mackay but was ridden too close and proved too good in the Cairns Cup. Cashin' Chex, got the right run throughout before copping a bump on the turn but only battled on after that with Mahagoni being to strong.
Avone - BEST BET

Californian & Pipistrelle
Californian: He began only fairly and settled midfield but overraced throughout and never travelled sweetly. Only whacked away in the straight and never threathened. Disappointing.
Pipistrelle: Good money late and it proved to be spot on. Went back from the wide alley settling 2nd last but always looked to be travelling strongly. Came around them widest on the turn and chased well to get up in the last few bounds. making it two on the trot for the new stable.
One To Follow
Joliestar
She looks an absolute star and came back in terrific fashion last Saturday blowing her rivals away wby 2.9 lengths. She ran 1:09.80 which was the fastest 1200m race of the day and was eased down from the 100m. She looks set for a big Spring Campaign ahead and one to put straight in the blackbook.

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:
Currently in the paddock after a brilliant campaign for the team winning 4 from his last 5 starts. All targets are aimed at the Magic Millions Country Cup now that he has qualified and Dave will be setting him first up for the race.
Whiskey Tower Report:
She is well and heading to a trial on the 17th of September for her second prep in the stable. Dave is optimistic on how she has came back and we will just take it one step at a time and get her out in trip.
Instigate Report:
She looks great, just having a niggle with hitting her back leg when galloping 3/4 pace. Dave will be speaking with the farrier to try and come up with some options to help.
Jimmy’s Brother Report:
Jimmy‘s Brother (C) is now in his second week of his second pre-training preparation at Fenwick Farm. He has now stepped up to working 2 laps on the sand track with a mate and is handling this work regime very nicely.
He has settled back into his work program very well after his spell at Storm Creek and we look forward to updating you again soon with his progress!

Anti Tank Missle Report:
Wow, that was a huge surprise. We thought it would just be a quiet one out the back and let him get a bit of an education but he really wanted to pick up underneath Wiggo. He is very raw and green which is to be expected as Dave has done nothing with him. We will see how he comes through and keep progressing to another jumpout before getting to the races.
Daring Exploit Report:
Ready to go for Tuesday next week where he will have a very easy time of it cruising around on the bit to blow some cob webs out. If he pulls up well we will be heading to a trial on the 24th after that.
John Rambo Report:
He is BACK! Rambo is back this weekend at Doomben and we can not wait. He has had a trial and a jumpout and has hit the line nicely both times and is coming a long very nicely. Tony is pleased and looking forward to having him back at the races.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn
Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.
We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

Master Rich
Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
