Racing Victoria pushes back on bookies unfairly banning punters

As complaints about the behaviour of bookmakers when it comes to blocking customers mount, Racing Victoria has warned those wagering operators who misuse anti-money laundering (AML) or counter-terrorism (CTF) measures to ban successful punters that they will be referred to AUSTRAC.

In a notice issued this month, Racing Victoria said it would act on bookmakers who are unfairly restricting access to accounts, delay payouts or close winning accounts.

It also said it had received complaints that bookmakers are asking for excessive or disproportionate information, including unredacted bank statements and statutory declarations, as a means of filtering out punters.

“We have observed instances when a bookmaker has elected to make the most onerous or sensitive form of information request from a customer, where a request for less onerous or sensitive information could have been reasonably expected to sufficiently address the concerns held by the bookmaker,” the statement said.

Nathan White Review

“Without a doubt the best tipping service out there and the fact that they throw in owner of the day and punter of the day promotions. It does not get much better than that.”

Race Reviews

Midweek Multi

It was the BIG MIDWEEK MULTI and congratulations to the members who were smart enough to think outside the box and take the place multi with all 6 legs as they ended up finishing - 3rd / 1st / 3rd / 1st / 1st

Strapperoo / Somerton Sniper

We were keen on the first leg as our BEST BET on the day and we were not let down after begining well and settled outside the leader and making it an easy watch winning by 0.7 lengths.

Somerton Sniper who was better suited going to Dubbo was absolutely crunched in betting starting 1.75. he settled near last and made a long run around them to hold off the challengers in a photo finish to get the CASH! Making it a great way to end the Wednesday racing for members.

Lietuva

Beagn only fairly and settled midfeild the fence getting a soft run. He was on the winners back turning but couldn't sprint with him taking a bit to balance up. Found the line ok and will improve from the run going forward.

Like Lukey / Captain Eagle

To be beaten by a 101 pop doesn't happen that often but two in the one day is just unbeliveable. No excuses here where the winner came from behind us and blew them away.

Captain Eagle was one you want to watch again. I have never seen a horse jumping shadows from the 600m mark all the way home. He was so raw and green in everything that he was doing there and will come on educational wise from the outing. Don't sack yet but he is one you want to see put it together first.

Saturday Multis

We were kean that Payline or Atmosphere would be winning the first race but after Paylijne was trapped 3 wide throughout no cover it made his task tremdously difficult espically with the way the track ended up playing. Atmosphere on the other hand got the perfect run leading at an even clip and proved too good first up. Congratulations to Dale from High Calibre Racing for winning with his recent purchase Atmosphere. Dale who also has a share in both Mr Racing's John Rambo and Slippin' Jimmy made it a day to remember at Ipswich. Next it was the 2yr olds turn Tasoraay who is by one of Mr Racing's favourite stallions, Tassort. He was green in his action still but we still can't work out why A Bullock would go back to the inside where the track was clearly inferior. Wategos, got the lovely run throughout but was just not travelling comfortable turning and failed to savage the line like he has done previously. The winner, At Witz End travelled 3 wide throughout and won well. The horse has been flying of late and won 2 since Mr Racing tipped him of course 🙁

One To Follow

Invincible Shield

Ultra impressive again, making it two on the trot and showing an explosive turn of foot to put pay to his rivals quickly, eased down. Will be progressing onto Saturday class races and higher now.

Mr Racing Stable News

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:

He has had a quick little freshen-up before heading to Grafton on the 18th July. $40,000 BM66 over 1000m on Grafton Cup day which will notch up 4 of the 5 required provincial and country races to qualify for the Magic Millions Country Cup.

Whiskey Tower Report:

Her Ross River test came back negative, which is good. Still be out in the paddock for a further few weeks before coming bac in for her second preparation.

Instigate Report:

Dave is just trying to get things right with her feet at the moment but he is backing off at the moment as she is growing and maturing and just not handling this prep. We will be having a spell now and get her back when she is ready.

Anti Tank Missle Report:

Wow, that was a huge surprise. We thought it would just be a quiet one out the back and let him get a bit of an education but he really wanted to pick up underneath Wiggo. He is very raw and green which is to be expected as Dave has done nothing with him. We will see how he comes through and keep progressing to another jumpout before getting to the races.

Daring Exploit Report:

Feeling super this big boy. He had a bit of snotty discharge but after antibiotic he has come through great. On track still for the 9th of July.

John Rambo Report:

The big boy returns on Monday back to Eagle Farm stables and we can not wait!

Use Your Illusion Report:

Smerdon Racing

Kesalul Report:

Coming along well, John is happy with how he has come back and he will just be bringing him up slowly.

Jimmyinthejungle Report:

Well, we have made it to our first jumpout, although it was a surprise update from Adam this morning that today was the day not tomorrow due to the Ambulance not being available tomorrow.

I have attached the video to this email and have spoken with both Adam and jockey Jasper Franklin regarding his performance.

He is the one who steps half a length slowly but then musters in the middle and stays in the middle of three. The winner (outside white sleeves) is named Sujeed and has had one start where it ran 4th beaten 2.7lengths in a Saturday race.

Adam’s Comments:
He was a little slow away but mustered quick, hung out and got on the wrong leg coming around the bend but was strong through the line. Very happy with him but is very green which is to be expected being his first time. Lovely first time especially when I haven’t done much with him and he will really come on from that today.

Jasper’s Comments:
He’s a very very nice horse in the making, has a lot to learn but he will pick it up as he goes. You will have a serious amount of fun with him, he tries very hard.

Exciting to see how he pulls up and progresses onwards.

You Think You Know Report:

Had a nice trial back and is ready to go to the races now to make his debut!

Cav and the team at Patriot Bloodstock have found a race for him at Scone on the 2nd July over 1200m. Wait to see what he draws at acceptance time to see if we are going around or not. 46 noms in the race makes it interesting.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn

Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.

We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

If you would like more information please contact Matt via email matt@mrracing.com.au and we can discuss further.

Master Rich

Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
