WE'VE GIVEN AWAY

At Witz End!

Not sure how much more we can take of this luck, team. If we are feeling it, we are sure you are too, and to be frank, we are At Witz End!

It’s not just happening with our Gold and Silver tips but also with our horses (Slippin’ Jimmy)

Feels like we are taking two steps forward and then two steps back. Nevertheless we are still fighting and understand luck swings in both directions, when luck is on your side everything feels easy, its when it is not is when you need to dig deep and stay focused on the long-term goal.

This week, we take a look at Slippin’ Jimmy and Whiskey Tower’s performance last Friday night, go through our tips plus take a look at our stable of horses and where they are up to in their preparations.

⚪🟢🔴Slippin' Jimmy's Review🔴🟢⚪

🚂 WRECK…😭😭

Jimmy had zero luck last Friday night in the TAB 100’s and 1000’s race at the Sunshine Coast. He was bolting for a run after turning and Mr Racing believed if he got the run at the top of the straight he would have won the race.

No fault of Kyle’s, he was simply a victim of circumstances where the run closed on him when he intended to get to the outside of the leading pair in the better going.

To his credit, Jimmy picked up again and ran through the line which is exactly what you want to see.

We will be looking at a QTIS race at Kilcoy over 1200m which is worth $21,500 to the winner.

Whiskey Tower Review

She certainly improved onto the bigger track and out in trip. We wanted to get her to the outside and after settling well throughout, she wanted to go, making a long run at them and still coming on the line. Stepping up to 2000m+ is going to be her go and once she hits 2400m we think you will see the best of her then.

Dave is throwing a nomination in for the Princess Stakes at Eagle Farm, Saturday week but we don’t think she will get a run. We had planned for a race on the 27th at the Gold Coast turf over 1800m but that meeting has now been transferred to the Poly.

Jodie Rockliff Review

“I have been lucky enough to be chosen as punter of the day once ( turned my silver membership into a gold) and punter of the week once ( renewed my gold membership) and some play money.
I have also been able to get shares in 4 horses. None of this would’ve happened without the team from Mr Racing. The promos are worth the membership alone without the tips that come through.
Thankyou Mr Racing.”

Race Reviews

Ipswich Multi

Gospel Girl: Ordinary, not much more to add team. Got the right run throughout and couldn't reproduce like it's first two starts. Nothing in the stewards to report either.

New Level: We were keen that there were only two hopes in the race and went with the race fitness edge. Unfortunately, the run came for the main danger and eventual winner, whereas New Level had to cross heals and try and pick up after not having full momentum. Just the way the luck is going at the moment, team.

Vivy Air

Very disappointing performance, after being well supported. This horse has been a nightmare for Mr Racing, we have now tipped her 3 times for our Silver members and can't put the W on the board. She had the perfect run throughout and we were confident as was the market she would produce a good effort. After entering the straight she didn't let down and only battled away, finishing 5th.

At Witz End

This is how Mr Racing feels at the moment "At Witz End" can not believe she gave up the lead here to the eventual winner in Arentee. They walked in this race and after she began well, had every opportunity to control the race which in our opinion was a telling tail of the final result. We secured the good odds early and was heavily backed but we just can't seem to land that blow!

One To Follow

Slippin' Jimmy & King Yoshi

Both of these lightly raced geldings can go into the blackbook. Both had no luck last Friday night when contesting the TAB 100's and 1000's race at the Sunshine Coast and if placed right can go through their grades quickly.

The Gold Membership Recap

The luck is just not on our side at the moment. We are consistently beating the SP but unfortunately, that doesn’t pay the bills at the end of the week.

We bet into a total of 9 races over the week and had the following results:

1st: 2x
2nd: 5x
3rd: 2x

Not to mention Slippin’ Jimmy on Friday night who we had 10 units each way on and was a horrible watch and never got any luck at all.

We are just on the wrong leg team and not able to put back-to-back winning weeks in at the moment, we feel the frustration deeper than anyone. None the less, we know our formula works and we are knuckling down to keep fighting.

PRO PUNTER OF THE WEEK, James Dohray was an overall loss of $1,370

KEY STATS:

Mr Racing Stable News

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:

Don’t have to be stiff to be dead. terribly unlucky on Friday night, where we believe he would have won if he got the run at the top of the straight. Dave said he felt the run taking a day or two to get over it but has bounced back on Wednesday. The next start we will be looking at a race at Kilcoy over 1200m which is QTIS eligible and worth $21,500 to the winner. It looks like a great stepping stone onto the Gold Coast race on the 24th May.

Whiskey Tower Report:

David has said she has left some feed and taking her time to get over the run there on Friday night. She was great there and we can’t wait to get her up over 2000m+
We will nominate for the Princess Stakes at Eagle Farm for the 3 yr old fillies but also look for another suitable race after the 1800m maiden on the Gold Coast has been moved to the Poly.

Instigate Report:

She is looking more and more racey everytime we get an update. Only 6 weeks off a trial now and hoping we can get her off to the races this campaign.

Anti Tank Missle Report:

Dave has been stepping his work up and he has been progressing well with it. He looks great but his feet are still a bit soft as you can imagine being out for so long. Plan is still to get him off to a jumpout on the 14th of May.

John Rambo Report:

Still having one more week out at Embrook before coming back in to commence his next preparation. We are excited to have him back. This preparation will be the writing on the wall for the big boy!

Use Your Illusion Report:

The jumpouts have been called off this week due to the wet weather. Tony put the blinkers on him and has sharpened him which was a positive sign and was very happy with how he worked with them on.

He will be heading for a spell now for 4-6 weeks before coming back in.

Smerdon Racing

Kesalul Report:

What a thrill there on Saturday he gave us all. Finishing 2nd in the race Mr Racing sponsored. He has pulled up well from the run and will be heading to the paddock now for a well deserved rest.

Jungle Cat x Khasan Report:

Adam is happy with how he is ticking over at the moment, has really strengthened up and will continue to do so as he matures. No guide yet as to when he can kick off his racing career but we are just getting him through this prep and off to a trial hopefully sooner rather than later.

You Think You Know Report:

ou Think You Know has almost completed 5-weeks spelling and will return to work with Brett Cavanough next week.

Typically, an 8–10 week preparation to get race fit which should see him ready for the trials by the end of June.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn

Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.

We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

If you would like more information please contact Matt via email matt@mrracing.com.au and we can discuss further.

Master Rich

Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
