Mr Racing 's Giveaway Total

$96,845

Derby Day To Cup Day

Gee, we have had a BIG last 5 days team.

Kicking off we had Brave Mead racing in the first race on Derby Day, unfortunately, he couldn’t get our “Owner Of The Day” winner Justin Turk the BIG $6,000 collect but he still walked away with $950 in his pocket for finishing third.

Our play and horse to follow I Am Unstoppable in the Coolmore Stud Stakes just couldn’t get anything to take him into the race. He was well backed on the world pool, starting 4.4 after tipping him as high as 10.0

Hawaii Five Oh was disappointing in the Golden Eagle but fortunately for GOLD Members, we backed the eventual winner as well.

Then we almost got our ROUGHIE in Dune Forty Five home at Eagle Farm where we had $100 each way for our Punter Of The Day and he nearly went home with a good collect after backing him at 18.0 and 3.3  – but M. Harley has done a Moses and the seas parted on the eventual winner in Ekaterina.

Onto Cup day and we were very KEEN on a couple at Eagle Farm but one of our Best Bets in Impendor scratched race morning  😞

Deep Rouge didn’t let us down though after being sensationally backed into as low as 2.45 at the time of jump. She sure made Mr Racing happy and of course our PLATINUM members who secured the good early odds. Our Gold Member had $500 each way and won $1,565 which more than pays for his annual $990 membership. Our $99 annual member had $200 each way and walked away with a very healthy $638 in cash. More than 6x his annual membership!

The Cup, well we had the winner and one of our horses to follow in “Without A Fight” on top in our preview but couldn’t see much value in the race. At the top of the straight, our trifecta suggestion gave our punter of the day wnner a good thrill when they were all looming.

We almost landed the BIG PLUNGE to end Melbourne Cup day with Bermadez and a D.Oliver fairytale. When tipped to members, he was around 35.0 win and 8.5 the place available but come jump he started 14.3 a HUGE go and we were only beaten by an old horse of Mr Racing’s in Pascero. Congratulations to Gavin Hanson who won the “Punter Of The Day” and took home $325 in profit. We hope you shout your mates a beer this weekend up there in Bundaberg mate.

Justin Turk - Owner Of The Day

Mr Racing ventured down to Valla Beach on Sunday to catch up with “Owner Of The Day” winner Justin Turk.

A little background on Turky is that he used to be a Mr Racing Premium member and won close to $30k with Mr Racing, which helped start his wife’s cafe in Sydney.

Come watch the catch-up at Justin’s family home…

Gavin Hanson's Review

What an excellent service. Mr Racing does a wonderful job, each week, not having the time to do the form myself, Mr Racing has me covered, the time put in by Mr Racing is exceptional. They don’t win every time, but who does that punting, but you can confidently know that your money is going on a horse that is going to give you a good sight if not a good return. Doing a great job team, keep it up. And if your not a member yet, you should be.

Stitty Got The Cash 💸

Did He Kiss Him?

It was great to catch up with Stitty last week and share some moments reliving the win of Brave Mead at Caulfield, which saw Jake land $1,800 in cash for his time as Mr. Racing’s “Owner Of The Day”

Just like Turky, Jake was also a Premium member and experienced great success. “Best Investment Ever”

This is not Jake’s first time being a winning race horse owner though. Stitty purchased a share with his mate Geoff (Also Mr Racing Member) in John Rambo and what a first horse to be involved in. He is getting aimed at the Gateway in December and if he can win that race we are off to the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap.

Watch the catch up below.

Our Tips

Brave Mead

We were excited for this one! He got the lovely run midfield one off and when he peeled out in the straight with his head on his chest, we thought he was just going to go whoosh. Even though they were favouring the leaders around the circle there on Saturday we believe he didn't run out the 1600m, as we had beat the winner last start and met him better at the weights as well.

Saturday Multi

Deepfloat Diva SUNK. Very poor, the form of his last run stacked up on Cup day though. Overriding - very plain.

I Am Unstoppable

He stays in the Blackbook. Had nothing to take him into the race at all, was slowly run midrace and just a complete forgive, should of been fighting out the finish if not winning if he had a tow into it.

Hawaii Five Oh

Mr Racing was keen he would get the perfect run throughout and make him a great each way play. After getting the lovely run just in behind the speed, Nash peeled off the fence and was bauked for a run. In saying that, once he was clear, he should of finished 1/2 a length to a length better to warrant a better performance.

Dune Forty Five

We almost got the roughie home! Last prep first up we landed the cash with a Platinum member and we were looking to do the same again. He got the lovely run throughout and at the 800m we knew he would be in the finish. Unfortuntely for us, M. Harley has done a Moses and the seas parted on the eventual winner in Ekaterina. Finishing 2nd beaten only 0.69 lengths.

Deep Rouge

Deep Rouge didn't let us down after being sensationally backed into as low as 2.45 at the time of jump. She settled at the rear and produced that good turn of foot in the straight to pick up her rivals and win by 1.59 lengths.

Flying D'amore

It is disappointing that our Best Bet in Impendor was scratched race morning in this race where we had him clearly on top. Flying D'amore, in our opinion had trialled a lot better when ridden quiet so we were a bit surprised when they went forward. Got into a lovely spot trailing the leading pair but just couldn't put them away.

Melbourne Cup

What a peach of a ride from the rock n roll star in M.Zahra to go back to back winning Melbourne Cups. It was over at the 2000m mark when he found the fence behind the fav. Soulcombe not much luck after being slow away again and finding backsides in the straight, the fav Vauban disappointing.

Kimochi & Right To Party

Kimochi: got caught 4-5 wide and pushed 8 wide f/b. Hit the lead at the 250m and weakened after a tough run.
Right To Party: Got a nice run 2 wide midfield getting a lovely run. Found plenty of trouble in the straight in a swoopers race. Ran on nicely when clear after the bird had flown. It's ready to win the right race. I'm tipping they'll go to the 1000 Guineas which won't be easy.

Bermadez

We almost landed the BIG PLUNGE to end Melbourne Cup day with Bermadez and a D.Oliver fairytale. When tipped to members when he was around 35.0 win and 8.5 the place available but come jump time he was as short as 11.0. HUGE go and we were only beaten by an old horse of Mr Racing's in Pascero who got the run through.

I Am Unstoppable

He stays in the Blackbook. Had nothing to take him into the race at all, was slowly run midrace and just a complete forgive, should of been fighting out the finish if not winning if he had a tow into it.

Strait Acer

Sat 3w against a strong fence bias and ran on solidly to finish 4th. This preparation has taken a huge step from winning a Class 1 first up at Hawkesbury to finishing 4th in the 10 million-dollar Golden Eagle 7th up. We imagine he'll be spelled now hopefully and he might be a serious horse if he can keep taking steps forward in his next preparation.

No Damage Done…

Well team, I don’t think I could have handled the weekend any worse but with any luck we could have had a great Cup weekend with Bermadez (35.0 tipped into 13.0) finishing second which could of been the fairytale ending for D.Oliver, and the mighty Dune Forty Five on Saturday at juicy odds.

One of our fav’s in Sweet Mercy we need to thank as it was looking grim coming into her race.

We were very disappointed that one of our best bets, Impendor, was scratched race morning, which left our betting strategy with Flying D’amore a bit much on.

Congratulations to our Punter Of The Day Matt.Quinlin who collected $1,595 on Deep Rouge (best bet) who was off the map and won impressively.

No damage done for the weekend, winning a huge 1.9 units.

Onto the Oaks day where we will be starting the betting week for Gold Members.

Mr Racing Stable News

Jayemmcee Report:

One of his owners, Toddy has taken Jayemmcee in and he looks to have settled in really well at his new farm near Cootamundra. Thanks, Toddy we are sure he is going to be enjoying his new home down there.

Brave Mead Race Preview:

Brave Mead has pulled up well following Saturday’s run in the Carbine Club Stakes at Flemington, which saw him step up the 1600m for the first time.

He’s since settled back into our Cranbourne Training Base, where we’ve planned for a few quiet days to best aid his post-race recovery.

Subject to his ongoing progression and as outlined in the post-race comments, we’ve earmarked the Group 3 Blue Sapphire Stakes at Caulfield in a fortnight’s time, which will see him come back to the more suitable trip of 1400m.

Audio Pre-Race Report:

Have a listen to the pre-race audio report from the Ciaron Maher Racing team below.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn

Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.

We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

Master Rich

Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
