What a result for not only our members but also for everyone involved in Slippin’ Jimmy’s win at Grafton last week.
It was a huge goal of Mr Racing’s to have a runner on Grafton Cup day after we have been going to this carnival for over 20 years but to get the win and see how much it meant to everyone was something special.

How Jamie Bennet Won $1,000 On Track
Eagle Farm meetings switched to Doomben as mitigation plans put in place
Racing is unlikely to return to Eagle Farm for at least a month as Queensland industry powerbrokers deal with the consequences of a fall that forced a meeting to be cut short at Brisbane’s premier track.
Jockey Robbie Dolan was injured when he was dislodged from his mount after another horse shied at construction work on the outside of the track near the 600-metre mark on Saturday.
Jockeys refused to ride in the remaining two races, leaving Eagle Farm’s immediate future as a racing venue in doubt.
Racing Queensland chief executive Jason Scott met with jockey and trainer representatives on Monday to resolve the impasse.
He said advertising boards would be placed on a section of the construction site between the 650m and 450m points of the racetrack.
“The jockeys believe that a lot of the problem is the black colour of the mesh around the building,” Scott said.
“There’s a gap … which we’re going to fill with advertising hoardings which will effectively work as an amphitheatre on the outside of the track.
“That will mean the horses will always have something to follow as well as the running rail.”

Slippin' Jimmy / Ferinzo / Cavalier Charles
What a way to round out the Grafton Carnival with the treble and double both saluting.
Slippin' Jimmy: Began well and slide forward to sit outside the lead. Young apprentice J.Mcmurray gave him the perfect ride and let him go once in the straight where he layed in but once straightened he gave fought them off as he does so often. Gives his all every time this bloke.
Ferinzo: We made him a horse to follow off his debut and he didn't disappoint. Like Jimmy he sat outside the leadgetting the lovely run. He went through his gears and really hit top speed at the 100m, easing down to win by 3.24lengths.
If he could get a good run he was going to haev the class on his rivals here and that he did. Peeled wide at the top of the straight and put them to pay very quickly. Huge roar on track and plenty of messages from mebers when the last leg of the treble saluted!
BattleField / Daytona
Battlefield and Daytona got lovely runs throughout and whilst Battlefield put the race away after being very heavily backed late when darting back to the inside Daytona was dropping out. Daytona has pulled up in the stewards report with abnormal respiratory noise and must be forgive.
One To Follow
Laizabout
Impressive debut after trialling super for this 2yr-old by the hot stallion, Zousain. He began well and controlled the race but gave his rivals a cold when letting down in the straight winning by a widening margin of 6.45 lengths. Although it was only a Taree Maiden he ran 0.54 seconds quicker than the BM58. Would have learnt alot there and can contiune to go throught the grades if palced right.

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:
The big boy has come through the run super and is ready to head back to the races next Friday on Coffs Cup day.
Whiskey Tower Report:
She came back in to the stables this week and will be heading to the trials in about 8 weeks.
Jimmy’s Brother Report:
We went out and seen Jimmy’s brother at Fenwick Farm this week and he is coming along well. He will be out there for a few more weeks before heading to Dave’s for a look at big school for the first time.
Anti Tank Missle Report:
Wow, that was a huge surprise. We thought it would just be a quiet one out the back and let him get a bit of an education but he really wanted to pick up underneath Wiggo. He is very raw and green which is to be expected as Dave has done nothing with him. We will see how he comes through and keep progressing to another jumpout before getting to the races.
Daring Exploit Report:
Ready to go for Tuesday next week where he will have a very easy time of it cruising around on the bit to blow some cob webs out. If he pulls up well we will be heading to a trial on the 24th after that.
John Rambo Report:
Tony is very happy with how John Rambo worked on Tuesday and its all systems go towards his first trial back this prep next Tuesday.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn
Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.
We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

Master Rich
Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
