WE'VE GIVEN AWAY

$159,997

Stiff Last Week

We were stiff not to walk away with a lot more cash for our members last week. Poor ride on Cherry Rose cost Matthew Neary a good result but none the less we still managed to get James his Silver Membership cost back for another year.

James Hopkins: $140

This week we go through the upcoming promotions, our stable horses, and of course our race reviews.

Mr Racing Recap

💸 PROMOTIONS 💸

What a great early result in the midweek PUNTER OF THE DAY PROMOTION with Mr Racing giving away a total of $1,150 in CASH to our two winners in Sean Dodds and Luke Cattlin.

It's Tough Tipping.

Tipping is something we are still getting use to but Mr Racing has been around long enough in the game to learn a thing or two about mental toughness, and boy does it get tested regularly.

One of the key components to winning on the punt is finding the right horse, in the right race and then having the right luck in running.

One thing punters often forget is, that horses are animals, not robots. They don’t just turn up and run the same performance every time. This leads us to speaking about one thing our Gold Members and Mr Racing have been copping for a while now, horses put in a poor performance or don’t run up to expectation but then come out next start and win. Let’s breakdown a few examples:

Payline: Mr Racing mentioned he was the best maidener going around and had a good bet on him first up at Eagle Farm but failed to let down after looking like he was just going to go straight past them. Since then he has come out and won 2 in a row with a combined margin of 6.6 lengths. He is currently favourite this Saturday in a Class 3 Plate.

Sir Lucan: Gold Members will remember two starts ago put in a below-poor performance, beaten 13 lengths, and then last week came out and won the Winter Cup (Listed) race don’t he same Heavy 9 conditions.

Ostraka: At Scone Mr Racing was confident and so were others being well supported (7.5 into 5.5) but failed to get past the leader in a Benchmark 72. Then next start came to Brisbane and won the QLD Day Listed $200,000 race.

We could go on and on and it is frustrating but it is part of the game and it is just one piece of why TIPPING is so hard.

SUPPORT LIAM 🙌

Wanted to say a huge thank you to all who have continued to donate to help support Liam and Adrian’s family through this tough battle.

Adrian has reached out earlier in the week and said Peter V’landys who is the chief executive and a board member of Racing New South Wales as well as the chairman of the Australian Rugby League Commission will be donating $10,000 and making sure we hit the goal of $20,000 prior to the rode to the Millions Begins!

What an amazing industry racing is where we can all get behind one another and support when things are going tough.

💥 PLATINUM CLIENTS GO BANG! 💥

Luke Cattlin Review

“Giddy up Mr Racing. I’ve been following you for over a year and it’s been great fun. To get the call as punter of the day was a fantastic surprise. Thank you Mr Racing.”

Race Reviews

Midweek Multi

Savour The Dream: Beagn only fairly and was ridden to hold a spot one out and one back. Still green in his action when M.Harley asked for an effort. I see the tounge tie was added the next day on Racing Australia...did he get the tounge over the bit there?? not sure.

November Man: Was going to need luck from the alley and was ridden conservatively but had to much work to do in the straight and was not suited. The money late said she would run well, when there is smoke there is usually fire. D.Thorton told stewards the filly failed to get into a rhythm then copped a bump turning. A laceration was revealed to her n/fore as well. One to forgive the run.

Quinella

We were keen on this quinella where we thought wer were backing two progressive horses on the way up still. Invincible Sheild was impressive once again with displaying a super turn of foot to put his rivals away quickly when C.Williams asked him to go. Eased up and won by 3 lengths to Rimbaud who began well and got a lovely run in behind the speed. Got onto the back of the winner in the straight but simply could not keep up but beat the rest comfortably and will be hard to beat next start in similar.

Silva 'N' Sauve

Began ok and went forward to get outside the lead. Failed to respond when asked int he straight and tailed out finishing 10th. Could have come to the end of his first preparation and need a spell.

Cherry Rose / Somerton Sniper

Cherry Rose: Jockey J.Murphy gave her absolute none here. If he came out with intent, he could of followed the leader and eventual winner across who was drawn one inside her. The ride in the first 100m cost ehr the race.

Somerton Sniper: Race meeting was post poned due to track condition.

Resolute Lady

Very strong bias with the rail out so far at the Sunshine Coast and from barrier 1 we thought it was a good each way play at the odds. We liked the winner (blackbooked) but didn't like the alley for it early but managed to cross after doing work. Unfortuntely Resolute Lady couldn't battle on and hold third and finished 4th beaten 3.4 lengths.

One To Follow

Invincible Shield

Ultra impressive again, making it two on the trot and showing an explosive turn of foot to put pay to his rivals quickly, eased down. Will be progressing onto Saturday class races and higher now.

$1 million a week – Australia’s training duopoly raking in record rates of prize money

Chris Waller is approaching yet another milestone and looks destined to beat Ciaron Maher to become the first trainer in Australia to bank $50 million in prize money in a single season.

Waller, Australia’s top prize money earner in each of the past 12 seasons, has 20 runners nationally on Saturday and, according to Racing Australia, needs just over $430,000 in prize money to break through the $50 million mark for this season, something that has never been achieved.

At this point, 46 weeks into the season, Waller’s horses have been averaging an extraordinary $1.08 million in prize money every week, or $154,211 a day. For every starter he has had this season – there have been 2017 of them – the prize money collected has been $24,619.

Trainers usually take 10 per cent of prize money, which in Waller’s case would equate to a minimum of $5 million flowing back to the stable in this season alone….

Mr Racing Stable News

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:

He has had a quick little freshen-up before heading to Grafton on the 18th July. $40,000 BM66 over 1000m on Grafton Cup day which will notch up 4 of the 5 required provincial and country races to qualify for the Magic Millions Country Cup.

Whiskey Tower Report:

Her Ross River test came back negative, which is good. Still be out in the paddock for a further few weeks before coming bac in for her second preparation.

Instigate Report:

Dave is just trying to get things right with her feet at the moment but he is backing off at the moment as she is growing and maturing and just not handling this prep. We will be having a spell now and get her back when she is ready.

Anti Tank Missle Report:

Wow, that was a huge surprise. We thought it would just be a quiet one out the back and let him get a bit of an education but he really wanted to pick up underneath Wiggo. He is very raw and green which is to be expected as Dave has done nothing with him. We will see how he comes through and keep progressing to another jumpout before getting to the races.

Daring Exploit Report:

Feeling super this big boy. He had a bit of snotty discharge but after antibiotic he has come through great. On track still for the 9th of July.

John Rambo Report:

Any day now and he will be back in the stables at Eagle Farm and we can’t wait.

Use Your Illusion Report:

Smerdon Racing

Kesalul Report:

Coming along well, John is happy with how he has come back and he will just be bringing him up slowly.

Jimmyinthejungle Report:

Well, we have made it to our first jumpout, although it was a surprise update from Adam this morning that today was the day not tomorrow due to the Ambulance not being available tomorrow.

I have attached the video to this email and have spoken with both Adam and jockey Jasper Franklin regarding his performance.

He is the one who steps half a length slowly but then musters in the middle and stays in the middle of three. The winner (outside white sleeves) is named Sujeed and has had one start where it ran 4th beaten 2.7lengths in a Saturday race.

Adam’s Comments:
He was a little slow away but mustered quick, hung out and got on the wrong leg coming around the bend but was strong through the line. Very happy with him but is very green which is to be expected being his first time. Lovely first time especially when I haven’t done much with him and he will really come on from that today.

Jasper’s Comments:
He’s a very very nice horse in the making, has a lot to learn but he will pick it up as he goes. You will have a serious amount of fun with him, he tries very hard.

Exciting to see how he pulls up and progresses onwards.

You Think You Know Report:

Back in doing some work and is about 4-6 weeks off a trial. Getting his winter coat at the moment which is normal.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn

Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.

We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

If you would like more information please contact Matt via email matt@mrracing.com.au and we can discuss further.

Master Rich

Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
