Let's take a look...

Mr Racing Recap

SUPPORT HARRISON 🙌

Mr Racing is helping raise awareness to young Harrsion’s story. Harrison’s story was bought to our attention by John Walter from Racing Watch, who is currently running a Charity Challenge for the month of May where he is having a bet each day and all the profit he is donating all his profits won each day to young Harrison and his family.

On Sunday Mr Racing donated 10% of the prize money Slippin’ Jimmy earned, which was $2,200 to young Harrison and his family. Thank you to all who have donated so far from our community, it means a great deal to the family and we have spoken with Olivia who is Harrsion’s aunty and she is forever grateful for the support the racing community has done for them.

If you get a winner over the next few weeks and can donate anything at all big or small please do so.
You can support Harrison and his family via his GO FUND ME PAGE

We encourage all our members to go check out Johns’s Instagram or Twitter, as if he doesn’t win on the day, he has to do a punishment and we are sure you will get a good laugh out of it. He has already had to drink a smoothie made by his kids, eat a spoonful of English mustard, and get his body waxed.

🔴⚪🟢Slippin' Jimmy - 1st🔴⚪🟢

How BLOODY EXCITING was that!

2.3 into 1.3 and putting them away to win by 2 lengths.

Slippin’ Jimmy took his record to 6: 3-1-0 on Sunday in good style. They went out -4.8 lengths fast for the first 800m for his class and etched his name as the class record holder. To be able to carry the big weight of 60.5 kg, work hard early and still finish off the way he has is a big effort for Jimmy. Ryan straight after the race said he would be more suited to the 1200m at this stage in his career but when you breakdown all the figures and times we have no issue with him at the 1400m. Next step is to head to a QTIS 1350m race on the 5th of June around Doomben which would be ideal for him.

This win meant a lot to many people on Sunday especially a young family in Brisbane who are doing it tough at the moment. (see Harrison’s story above.)

Exciting times ahead for Jimmy and thank you for all the members that sent in messages after the race.

Race Reviews

Unique Ambition

She began well and looked like she was going to get into a handy spot one off but the horses underneath her kicked up to hold her out 3 wide. She was travelling comfortably in a rhythm and once let go she picked up to go through her gears nicely, holding off the challenge from the favourite, Wembanyama. A well placed horse, who was off the map and got the cash!

Ostraka

Absolutely stiff here. We secured good odds and after beginning well, settled in the perfect spot, outside the lead. He looked the winner at the 300m when heading the leader and eventual winner but couldn't put the race away with Elson Boy kicking back and winning by half a length.

Port Lockroy

The inside lanes at Doomben on Saturday were a no go zone and by the last race you would think a top jockey would know this. Instead he went straight to the fence in the box seat. Was battling on in the worst going to be beaten 3.41 lengths on the line.

One To Follow

It's A Wonder

Huge run against the pattern of the day. Only having her 6th career start in the Wagga GNEAS and she got so far back where she wasn't even in the frame for 3 quarters of the race. She sustained a very long run at them and kept coming. Think she has a good race in her soon.

Overall we had a total of 13 plays for the week, for 3x winners, 3x seconds, and 1 third.

Mr Racing Stable News

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:

He has come through his run well and looks set to continue his preparation in two weeks time at Doomben over 1350m.

Whiskey Tower Report:

After anopther disappointing performance she is off to the paddock for a spell. Hopefully we can see her come back an improved horse like we seen a glimpse of at the Sunshine Coast at just her second career start.

Instigate Report:

Dave is just trying to get things right with her feet at the moment but he is backing off at the moment as she is growing and maturing and just not handling this prep. We will be having a spell now and get her back when she is ready.

Anti Tank Missle Report:

He is really looking good this bloke. Excited to have him trial next Tuesday at the Sunshine Coast over 850m and see what he can offer.

Anti Tank Missle Report:

Looks super this bloke who has not long arrived in the stables. He will be penciled in for a jumpout/trial on the 9th of July.

John Rambo Report:

He is still out at Embrook, looking but coming along well, he is currently on the treadmill doing his pre-training prior to coming back into the stables.

Use Your Illusion Report:

Please find attached a photo of Use Your Illusion who has recently commenced pre-training after completing his spell.

He has done very well during his time off and he is handling the return to work with no problems to report.

We will keep you updated with how he continues to progress through the early stages of his return to work.

Smerdon Racing

Kesalul Report:

Coming along well, John is happy with how he has come back and he will just be bringing him up slowly.

Jimmyinthejungle Report:

Well, we have made it to our first jumpout, although it was a surprise update from Adam this morning that today was the day not tomorrow due to the Ambulance not being available tomorrow.

I have attached the video to this email and have spoken with both Adam and jockey Jasper Franklin regarding his performance.

He is the one who steps half a length slowly but then musters in the middle and stays in the middle of three. The winner (outside white sleeves) is named Sujeed and has had one start where it ran 4th beaten 2.7lengths in a Saturday race.

Adam’s Comments:
He was a little slow away but mustered quick, hung out and got on the wrong leg coming around the bend but was strong through the line. Very happy with him but is very green which is to be expected being his first time. Lovely first time especially when I haven’t done much with him and he will really come on from that today.

Jasper’s Comments:
He’s a very very nice horse in the making, has a lot to learn but he will pick it up as he goes. You will have a serious amount of fun with him, he tries very hard.

Exciting to see how he pulls up and progresses onwards.

You Think You Know Report:

Back in doing some work and is about 4-6 weeks off a trial. Getting his winter coat at the moment which is normal.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn

Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.

We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

If you would like more information please contact Matt via email matt@mrracing.com.au and we can discuss further.

Master Rich

Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
