What a THRILLING way to round out the 2023 year! 

Not only did we back the last winner of the Brisbane Metro Meeting with Hatchet, but we also had a stable double 🔴⚪🟢 on Sunday with Kesalul and Slippin’ Jimmy.
It was a HUGE week for our PROMO winners, with THE KING THE PROMOS giving away a total of $8,946 in CASH 🤑 to our members!

What a MASSIVE week it was for our Gold Member Toddy Brown. Not only did he walk away with $2,850 in cash for his time as our Gold Pro Punter Of The Week but he also owns a share in Slippin’ Jimmy who walked in at the Sunshine Coast on New Years Eve.

This was the send-off we needed to end the year! 
 
 
Kesalul: He dipped his head when the gates opened and was half a stride slow away. Loved the way he had settled in behind the speed and Jasper tracked the favoruite into the race. Showed a good turn of foot to pick her up in the straight and wanted to knuckle down and chase. He has improved every run. We are excited to have him pull up well, as we will be backing him up in the 3yr-old QTIS race on WAVE Day this Saturday at the Gold Coast. Read on below to see the Owner Of The Day promotion. 
 
 
Slippin’ Jimmy: This was a dominant performance, justifying the short quote of 1.3 Although the opposition wasn’t much, the way in which he did it was impressive. His action lowered, and he went right through his gears when Jasper asked him for an effort, extending away from them winning by 4.5 lengths. He really wants to race this bloke and he will be having a short spell now. We expect him to thrive off that confidence-boosting win in readiness for his second preparation. 
 
 

💲MAGIC MILLIONS RUNNERS💲

 

To have two runners engaged last Sunday was one thing but to be doing it again 6 days later to kick off the Magic Millions Carnival is just phenomenal. This is one of our favourite times of the year and we have sent two tips out for one of Mr Racing’s favourite races in the Magic Millions Maiden where we are keen on Bonita Queen and Payline.
 
We will be sending our previews out for Kesalul and John Rambo who compete in Races 5 and 9 on Saturday. 
 
Mr Racing will not only be there on Saturday (hopefully in the winners enclosure) but also at the Sales, so don’t be shy and please come say Hello if you see the Mr Racing caps or shirts floating around. 
 
Special mention goes out to Patrick Hudson a Mr Racing member who owns a share in Kesaul and John Rambo, not sure he will be able to stand if they both salute on Saturday, and I must say we might not be able to either!

“I joined Mr Racing recently on the recommendation of QTOA.
I thought it presented as great value chance to win a share in a horse and 12 months of tips for 99 bucks.
I got my money back on chilly filly and then won punter of the day which helped me square the ledger over the Christmas break.

Our Tips

Toronto Terrier / Spring Lee

Gee we thought Toronto Terrier was going to get the cash after getting the lovely run throughout. Spring Lee was knocked off by the horse (Chilli Filly) we bet up on prior to it being scratched in Brisbane which was disappointing but thankfully Gold Members had a small bet on in the morning. Spring Lee got kean throughout and was overracing which is never ideal.

Cool Storm

We thought this filly was a flying machine and she proved exactly that after being absolutely smashed in betting 4.2 into 1.6. She began well and never a threat after kicking clear in the straight and winning by 4.26 lengths with her ears pricked.

Jayanthi

Never had the best of runs but still not up to this grade after trialling well leading in.

Hatchet / Navas Two

Nothing is better than your BEST BET getting the cash, but in saying that, backing the last winner on the last Metro Meeting of the year is also an unbelievable feeling. Hatchet began ok and M Rodd put him in a great trailing position in behind the speed, once in the straight he knuckled down giving chase to the leader and picking him up on the line. Navas Two our saver in the race was a bit of funny one, never given a slap with the whip in the straight and was just ridden hands and heals, pay to ignore the run and see where he pops up next start.

Vindicta

First time we have made a horse to follow off a trial, but he has trialled enormously at Deagon last week, running fast time and doing it very easily. He will be very hard to beat on debut where ever he goes.

Slippin’ Jimmy Report:

Absolute demolition job there on Sunday. He pulled up with a elevated heart rate after the race but was good the following day. He is off to the paddock now for a well earned rest after his first racing prep.

John Rambo Report:

He is lining up in the 3 and 4 yr old rising stars race on Saturday at the Gold Coast. He has drawn 14 but if the emergencies don’t get a start he will come into barrier 10. We will send out the pre-race report from Gollan’s team once we receive it.

Hi Mr Racing,
Just a quick note to let you know that Use Your Illusion is penciled in commence pre-training on Monday at River Junction. 

He will have a week or two there and then head to Jake Capewell to continue with his preparation under saddle there.

Kesalul Report:

What a horse! He is improving with every start this bloke and loved the way he quickened between the 300-100m when Jasper gave him a click-up to pick up the favourite. If you watch the vision closely, he dipped his head right when the gates were about to open. Good ride and a nice win. Bring on Saturday.

Jungle Cat x Khasahn

Mr Racing had this colt on our radar at the sales due to his half-brother (King Klaus) whom we tried to buy after his first race start. He is a fast, tough 1000m horse who has built a very handy record (29s :14 - 6 -1) and earned over $300,000 in prize money.

We loved his length, good muscle with clean knees and tracks well, he has a great head and a lovely mover.

Master Rich

Mr Racing along with trainer Jared Wehlow, purchased Master Rich at the recent Inglis Digital Online Sale for $8,000. He looks suited to North Queensland racing, especially the big Rockampton track and his run-on debut at Beaudesert was good when unsuited.
